Online Tutoring FAQ’s

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOME-SCHOOLING AND TUTORING?

Online Homeschooling is a replacement for attending a physical school. Tutoring provides extra help with school subjects.

WILL THERE BE TESTS OR ASSESSMENTS?

There are no tests or assessments by us for Tutoring.

WHAT PLATFORM DO YOU USE FOR LIVE CLASSES?

Live classes will be done over Google Meet.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO REGISTER FOR HOMESCHOOLING?

It is necessary to register with the Department of Education. All documents can be found on our Home-Schooling Page.

HOW LONG DO I PAY FOR?

We offer month-to-month services, no contract required. Payments are required each month for access to the materials and lessons and fees are payable until December.

ARE YOUR LESSONS CAPS ALIGNED?

Yes, all our lessons for Grades R – 12 are CAPS aligned.

WILL THERE BE TESTS AND ASSESSMENTS?

Yes, online tests and assessments will be administered by our highly qualified educators.

WILL EACH CHILD NEED THEIR OWN DEVICE?

Yes, this is recommended, especially when it comes to the Live Classes.

DOES IT INCLUDE EXCURSIONS, FIELD TRIPS AND EXTRA-MURALS?

Excursions, field trips and extra-murals are not included at this stage

WHAT PLATFORM DO YOU USE FOR LIVE CLASSES?

Live classes will be done over Google Meet.

Online Matric FAQ’s

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A GRADE 9 PASS?

You have to get at least an ABET Level 4 qualification. Please contact your local Department of Education for information as to your closest ABET Centre.

WHEN DO I NEED TO REGISTER BY?

Registrations open each year in October and close the following January. Exams take place in May and June each year.

WHERE DO I WRITE EXAMS?

You’ll be registered to write at a Department of Education Testing Centre closest to where you live.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE MY MATRIC CERTIFICATE OR REPORT?

To get a replacement matric certificate or statement of results, visit: https://www.education.gov.za/Informationfor/CertificationServices/eReissue.aspx

In order to get a copy of your report, contact your school.

WHEN AND HOW WILL I GET MY RESULTS?
Results will either be made available for collection at your exam centre or posted to your home.
WILL I RECEIVE STUDY MATERIALS?
All course material is communicated online, and should you require additional material, this will be at your own cost and discretion.
WILL THERE BE ASSIGNMENTS?
No, as an adult learner you will only be expected to write the exams.
WHEN WILL I WRITE THE EXAMS?
Exams are written between May and June each year. The next exams will take place in 2021.

WHY CAN’T I WRITE THIS YEAR?

Registrations for 2020 are already closed with the Department of Education.

DO YOU OFFER TERTIARY EDUCATION?

WHAT IF I HAVE BEEN OUT OF SCHOOL FOR YEARS? ITS BEEN SO LONG SINCE I STUDIED.

You can still study though us. And pass your matric.

Positivity is key. If you believe you can, you will. The SeatSA team and in particular your tutor will be with you each step of the way for assistance and encouragement. The online course material is sufficient to prepare you for your exams. Some faith and hard work will pay off.

HOW LONG DO I STUDY FOR?

That depends on you. With your initial signup, you get access till April 2021, providing you pay monthly. Should you wish to extend this, please contact us.
